The Nightmare on Main St is you worst dream come true. Its every nightmare you have ever had and everything you were ever afraid of! This fall, Nightmare on Main Street opens its haunted doors in Vernon, TX. 

Dark Water Asylum
Dr. Elias McKracken was once a respected mind at Clear Water Asylum. But progress turned into obsession and therapy to torture. His “treatments” left scars on patients and walls alike. When the Asylum finally fell, it wasn’t abandoned. The patients renamed Dark Water. Now,each autumn, the doctor and his “subjects” return. Inside, you’re not guest…you’re an experiment.

Deep beneath the quiet streets of Vernon, inside 1800 building laced with underground tunnels, fear has taken root. No one knows where he came from. Some say he walks in from the shadows every fall-dragging with him relics of fear collected from the darkest corners of the human mind. The fearmonger is not a ghost, not even alive in the way we understand it. Hedoesn’t haunt the house …he feeds it.

Opening Sept. 26th

Nightmare on Main St is open select nights this fall starting Friday, September 26th through Halloween.
Hours each night: 7:30pm - 10pm
* As long as you're in line with a ticket by 10pm, we will stay open to scare you!

Special Events - 

Bacon Fest, a free, family-friendly festival in Downtown
Vernon. Live music from artist Wade Bowen and Mike Ryan,
food truck competitions, and a kid’s zone. Nightmare on Main St. is open until 11pm.

Nightmare’s Mortuary Museum of Oddities

Rare 1800s cooling table, embalming kit, instruments, early
1900s airless spray gun with make-up.
